The Barracudas took 44 swimmer to Belgium to compete in the Benelux Divisional Championship on February 3rd. The Barracudas took seven swimmers to Long Distance Champs in Lignano, Italy in 2017. Swimmers able to make the trip to Italy over the Thanksgiving weekend, had to meet the basic qualification times in our home pool. They then took those times and their endurance to the pool in Lignano. With our biggest team in years, the Barracudas swam a fantastic first meet with a impressive 15 swimmers qualifying for the EFSL Championship meet from this meet alone. Additionally, the meet saw the return of 25 meter races to allow the younger swimmers to try their hands at race day. The Barracudas represented well with a large team in Brussels. The team swam to a third place finish in the EFSL Benelux Division leading to almost 30 swimmers qualifying for Champs.
After a massive team illness for the first meet, our second home meet of the season was the first time we were able to see many of our swimmers in the water this year. What a great turnout!

A small team of Barracudas represented well at NAS Signonella. Six swimmer represented well in the Pentathalon Saturday followed by a fourth place team finish on Sunday in the standard meet (and four of those swimmers swam both days).
